02What the site uses today
Strictly necessary storage may be used by hosting and security infrastructure to deliver the site and prevent abuse. These are not used by 8DIGITS for advertising.
After you successfully subscribe to 8digits Weekly, we set a first-party functional cookie subscribed=1 (Max-Age one year, Path /, SameSite=Lax, Secure on HTTPS) and a matching localStorage key 8digits_subscribed. This remembers that you already signed up so we can hide newsletter forms and show diagnosis CTAs. It does not store your email and is not gated behind analytics consent.
If you choose Accept analytics, we load Google Tag Manager, which may load Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregated traffic and page views. Analytics cookies and similar storage are not set for that purpose until you accept.
Advertising pixels and behavioural advertising cookies are not used on this public website.

TidyCal, LinkedIn and other sites linked from 8DIGITS have their own storage and privacy practices. A normal link does not allow those services to set storage through this page; their terms apply after you choose to visit them.
04Your controls
On your first visit we show a consent banner. Choose Accept analytics to allow Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, or Essential only to refuse analytics. You can clear site data / local storage (key 8digits_consent) in your browser to see the banner again.
Your browser settings can show, block or clear cookies and local storage. Blocking storage that is strictly necessary for security can prevent part of the site from working as intended. Rejecting analytics keeps the site usable without analytics tags.
